Anthony Young Obituary

Anthony William Young

September 1939 ~ January 2016

Tony's lifelong pursuit of knowledge began as an Eagle Scout. He became an oceanography technician, adapting a beer keg as a deep water sampling device for research, and later worked in Antarctica. After moving to Seattle, he became a Customs clerk, where he was considered "eccentric and a computer person"- an approbation of which he never tired.

He married three times, last and longest to Davida Y. Teller,

PhD. He retired early to pursue hobbies of photography, hiking and travel. Tony is survived by his stepchildren Stephen and Sara Teller, and step-grandsons Cole and Dean. Donations in memoriam should be to Heifer International.

There will be an Open House at his home on Sunday, 2/14, 2-4pm.

We just saw Tony's obituary in the newspaper. Our memories of Tony are of his warmth and how he and Davida were so welcoming of us into the community and their life. He was a great story teller of his many adventures and encounters. Thoughtful and passionate, Tony seemed to be always engaged in learning things, both scientific and creative. I recall his hugs, his clearly smitten love towards Davida, and of course, his laugh. We are sorry we will be away for his open house, but send our condolences to Sara and David.
