John Jacobs Obituary

John Carl Jacobs

John Jacobs passed in August 2016, surrounded by his beloved wife Barbara, and friends Karl and Diana Lechner. He was born the summer of 1952 to Jerry and Eva Jacobs. John lived in Bellevue and several neighborhoods in Seattle. For several years, John and his brother shared a house on Queen Anne hill and swore that remnant glacial ice was beneath the house. John was proud to be a graduate of Franklin High School and of the University of Washington. He spent his career as an architectural designer. As with many baby boomers that faced the computer revolution, John taught himself AutoCAD and remained active in the industry. He led a full, rich life in Duvall, Washington with his wife Barbara over the last 13 years. Over the years he developed many meaningful friendships, frequenting the local bookstore, shops and restaurants. John was an unassuming man who touched many lives. He was an extraordinary grandfather! His family extends their gratitude to John's employer, Goldsmith and Associates, for their support. John is survived by his wife Barbara Jacobs, daughters by marriage, Holly Saint and Michelle Wheeler, grandchildren Hollson Saint, Savannah, Ella, and Elijah Ballweber, Dylan and Maizey Wheeler, his mother Eva Jacobs, brother Michael Jacobs, sister-in-law Virginia Calvin, niece Alana Le and her husband Mark Le, Olivia Le, his grandniece, and nephew Nicolas Jacobs. His family all loved and respected him very much, It was John's wish to be cremated, and his remains scattered amongst some of his favorite places; Long Beach Peninsula, Whidbey Island and in the waters of Puget Sound. A series of private celebrations of his life were held. In lieu of flowers, John would want you to spend more quality time with your families and friends. Barbara would love to hear from John's old friends.

John and I were good friends in the late 70's and after I moved to Alaska in 1979 we corresponded for many years. I would visit when I went back to Seattle. He was a wonderful friend. Funny, smart, and an oddball in the best of ways. I am sorry to see this obituary for him. I am glad he was married and had a family. This picture of him looks just like he did 40 years ago.
