David Spiker Obituary

David Spiker

January 10, 1947 ~ June 14, 2017

Always a New Yorker, even after two decades in Seattle, David, born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, died of complications from cancer. He was known for his active participation in the Seattle design community, including leadership of the Design Commission, AIA, and Arcade. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Pinho, niece Dawn Paruta, and aunt, Joan Ragan.

Help remember David Saturday, June 17, with a walk from Romio's to the water beginning at 3:00 pm.

As High School classmates, David and I talked a lot about being Architects. He went directly to Pratt, while I spent a year at Rutgers University (NJ) in Engineering before getting enough scholarships together to afford Pratt. David always joked about 'being ahead of me' and getting Registered first. Great memories. Great Friend. Occasionally, I see a well-designed Cloud in the sky which David might have had a hand in designing. (signed) Doug
