Thelma N. Emmerich, age 80, of Sedalia, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Resthaven Care Center in Sedalia.
She was born October 13, 1930, in Sagrada, Missouri, a daughter of Norman Ralph and Gurthie Jones Wall, both deceased. Thelma was married to Charles Emmerich, and to this union five children were born.
For many years Thelma worked at Brown Shoe Factory and Primo Pants Factory, both located in Versailles.
Thelma was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed embroidery work and all kinds of sewing. However, her greatest enjoyment came from being with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.
Survivors include four children, Danny (Betty) Emmerich, California; Bruce (Jana) Emmerich, Cole Camp; Patty (Kerry) Turpin, Sedalia and Rick (Teresa) Emmerich, Versailles; one brother, Ralph Jr.,(Sook) Wall, Sierra Vista, AZ; two sisters-in-law, Mary Wall, Jefferson City and Moni Wall, Eldon; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Emmerich, two brothers, Raymond and Roy Wall and one sister, Betty Hirschvogel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 4, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with Dr. Todd Forman officiating. Interment will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 3, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.

To Thelma's family.
I was privileged to get to know "Nanny" through my dear granddaughter, Sarah. She was a beautiful lady and so special to so many. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you, her family, who she loved and nurtured.

Thelma was the best Mother Inlaw anyone could ask for. She will be missed by all how came to know her.

There are no words that can make the pain that is felt from this loss go away. Thelma was a wonderful mother and "Nanny" to a huge family that loved her. Be strong and lean on each other during this time of grief and loss. Wishing you much strength during this difficult time.
