Charles Walter Blaylock(1921-2011)

Charles Walter Blaylock age 90 of Sedalia died on Saturday June 4, 2011 at the Cass Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 9, 1921 in Sedalia son of George Henry and Josie Cochran Blaylock. He was married on November 10, 1950 in Eagle Heights, Arkansas to Goldie Hilt and she survives. Charles attended Olive Branch School. He then served in the Army Air Corp during WWll in the South Pacific Jungle Air Force 13th Squadron. He then returned to the farm something he enjoyed very much. He was a member of the East Sedalia Baptist Church and served as a deacon for the Olive Branch Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming, traveling, gardening and loved spending time with his family. Besides his wife he is survived by four children; Nancy and Leon Richmond, Stan and Susan Blaylock, Steven and Robin Blaylock and Tom and Marty Blaylock all of Sedalia, twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren. He preceded by two brothers; Harold and Dean Blaylock, two sisters; Pearl Ream and Leota Rhoads, infant daughter; Anita Marie Blaylock. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday June 8, 2011 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Graham officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Ivan Ream, Alan Ream, Dale Rhoads, Wayne Rhoads, John E. Blaylock, John W. Blaylock. Honorary pallbearers will be Grandsons and Grandson-In-Laws. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday June 7, 2011 at the funeral home. There will be full military rites by V.F.W. Post 2591. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery northeast of Sedalia.
