Danny Harms, 57, of Windsor, Missouri, died Tuesday evening, March 19, 2013 at his home in Windsor.
He was born October 20, 1955, in Windsor, Mo., the son of Milburn H. Harms and Virgie Gladys (Hix) Harms. On April 4, 1980, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Windsor, he married Brenda L. Abell, and she survives of the home.
Danny was a city letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Windsor for over 28 years, retiring on May 31, 2009. After graduating from Windsor High School, he worked for a short time at the Harms MFA service station that his father owned; the Windsor Lanes bowling alley for a year, and also at US Safety in Windsor. Danny especially loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed raising a large garden every year. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Sedalia, Mo.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters: Kara D. Entrop, and her husband, Ashton, Sedalia, Mo.; Dana L. Brown, and her husband, Aaron, Windsor; a grandson, Daniel D. Entrop, Sedalia; his mother, Virgie G. Harms, Windsor; 2 brothers: Gary L. Harms and Stephen (Steve) D. Harms, both of Windsor; 4 nieces: Holly, Amanda, Brianna and Courtney; 2 great-nephews: Jake and Jeff; a great-niece, Josie, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Milburn H. Harms, on July 4, 2011.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Assembly of God Church, Windsor, with Rev. Gene Ekstrand officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to Twin Lakes Hospice or the Missouri Cancer Association, and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
