Don O. Engelbrecht, age 80, of Stover, died Thursday, January 8, 2009, at St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City.
He was born May 4, 1928, in Jefferson City, a son of Otto A. and Jessie Pearl Gibler Engelbrecht, both deceased. On June 4, 1954, in Stover, Don married Ella Lou Alpers. She preceded him in death October 30, 2006.
He was a 1945 graduate of Stover High School and an Army veteran, serving his country in the Korean War. He owned Bronzwood, Inc. in Stover, and was later affiliated with Ralston-Purina and Cargill. He also owned and operated American Ag Air Ventilation Systems.
He was a faithful, active member of the Stover United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Kent (Gina) Engelbrecht of Stover; three grandchildren, Paige, Blake and Amber Engelbrecht, Stover; sister-in-law, Vivan Engelbrecht, Florida; nephews, Martin (Grace) Engelbrecht, New Jersey and George (Claudia) Engelbrecht, New York; and great nieces, Stephanie, Cora and Lila Engelbrecht.
One daughter, Karen Kay Engelbrecht and one brother, Robert M. Engelbrecht also preceded him in death.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 13, at the Stover United Methodist Church with Rev. Diane Cutler officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Stover Cemetery.
