Elaine J. Albertus, age 87, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 16, 2011, at the Lighthouse Care Center in Warsaw, Missouri. She was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, on February 10, 1924, the daughter of Earl S. and Teresa Hanrahan Berman.
She grew up in Rapid City. In 1945 she was united in marriage to James P. Murray. Following their marriage they made their home in Rapid City. Unto this union one son was born.
She was employed in the catalog order office for Montgomery-Ward and then worked as a dental assistant and lab technician for D. K. Pearson Dental office for twenty-seven years.
In 1968 she was united in marriage to Richard Albertus in New Castle, Wyoming. They made their home in Rapid City until moving to Warsaw, Missouri, in 1985.
She was an active and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Warsaw. She was a member of Circle A of the United Methodist Women, the Red-Hat Club and TOPS 1085 in Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jaclyn, and her husband, Rich Albertus, on January 11, 2002.
Elaine is survived by one son, Mike Murray, and his wife, Kerry, of Warsaw, a step-son, Richard G. Albertus ,and his wife, Peach, of Franktown, Colorado, two grandchildren, Josh Murray, and his wife, Emily, of Columbia, Missouri and Lindsey Murray, Alexandria, Virginia, two step-grandchildren, Michelle Albertus, of Centennial, Colorado, and Ric Albertus, and his wife, Caitlin, of Evergreen, Colorado, three step-great-grandchildren, Molly Strobel, Hannah Strobel and Derek Strobel, all of Centennial, Colorado, one brother, Robert John Berman, of Rapid City, two nieces, one nephew, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday morning, July 20, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Warsaw. Burial will be in the Shawnee Cemetery near Warsaw. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
