Eunice M. (Meredith) Benscoter, 90, of Georgetown, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was born March 27, 1921, the daughter of George and Ruby (Baker) Curry.
Eunice was very loving and caring, especially to her older friends. She was always young at heart and enjoyed her life, which was spent entirely in the Georgetown area. Eunice's family was her pride and joy. She especially loved and looked forward to the times they had together. Eunice was known for her rasberry cobbler, chicken and noodles, jams and candy. She loved to cook and her walnut-maple fudge was a sought-after prize at many fundraisers for Georgetown Methodist Church, where Eunice was an active member for many years.
Eunice worked for Bing's and Safeway before retiring from Rival after many years as a customer service representative. And she was a member of the Jolly Elders in Sedalia.
Eunice is survived by 5 children, Laura Lee Lujan and her husband Leo of Tucson, AZ, Virgil E. Meredith of Endwell, NY, William R. Meredith and wife Cathy, of Eldon, Larry Meredith and wife Gloria of Lenexa, KS and Dr. Ruby F. Meredith and husband Mike Pfaff of Birmingham, AL; her step-son, Nathan Benscoter; 11 grandchildren, Randy Lujan, Marissa Tebbe, Cindy Meredith, Brian Meredith, Amanda Meredith, Roger Meredith, Phillip Meredith, Allan Meredith, Clint Meredith, Nick Benscoter and Chris Benscoter; 11 great grandchildren and her brother, George
R. Curry. Eunice was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Russell R. Meredith and Jim
Benscoter; her grandson, Danny Thornhill and 2 brothers, Ed Curry and Earl Curry.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenneth Cripe officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Lujan, Brian Meredith, Roger Meredith, Phillip Meredith, Allan Meredith, Clint Meredith, Nick Benscoter and Chris Benscoter. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Eunice's family will recieve friends from 10:00AM until service time on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Georgetown Methodist
