Linda C. Richardson 66, of rural Hughesville, Missouri, died Saturday morning at her home.
She was born September 19, 1946, in Sedalia, Mo., the daughter of Harold A. Williams and Marilyn J. (Illig) Williams. On June 11, 1966, at the First Baptist Church in Houstonia, Mo., she married Claude Stanley McMullin, who preceded her in death December 15, 2001. On July 16, 2005, at the Antioch Fellowship Church in Sedalia, she married Garry Don Richardson who survives of the home.
Linda graduated from college with a B.A. in Education and taught Elementary Education in the St. Clair and Lonedell school districts for several years. She then put her education degree to work by home schooling her 4 children. Linda touched many lives as a pastor's wife for over 40 years. In later years, she also enjoyed traveling and hosting "elegant" dinner parties for friends and family. Linda was a loving caregiver to her aging parents and others in need of care. She was a member of Covenant Life Outreach Church in Houstonia. She taught Sunday School and played piano and violin for church worship services. Recently, she had found a passion for teaching a ladies Bible study out of her home. She was also a member and violinist for the Sedalia Symphony.
In addition to her husband, Garry, Linda is survived by a son, Andrew McMullin (Abby), Houstonia, Mo.; 3 daughters: Mari Nelle Poehlmann (Ron), Houstonia, Mo., Susan VonGretzinger (Erich), Knob Noster, Mo., Andrea Meeker (Jeremy), Peoria, Illinois; 7 grandchildren: Benjamin, Anna, Toby, Todd, Luke, Julian, Julia; 2 brothers: H.A. Williams and David Williams, both of Hughesville, Mo.; 4 sisters: Jacquelyn Reierson, Union, Mo., Janice Lawson, Madrid, Iowa, Rebecca Banderman, St. Clair, Mo., Anita Hanks, Hughesville, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Claude, Linda was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Miriam McMullin.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the Antioch Fellowship Church, Sedalia, with Don McMullin and Harvey Miller officiating. Burial will be in Potter's Cemetery, 17 miles northeast of Sedalia. Visitation will be before the service on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the church.
A memorial fund has been established to help with funeral expenses and contributions may be made in care of the funeral home.
