Loretta Capps Hankins
SEDALIA — Loretta Capps Hankins, age 78, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Loretta was born January 26, 1936 in Stover, Missouri, the daughter of the late Linney and Leona Capps. She graduated from Stover High School and studied at the University of Alaska. Loretta was united in marriage to Stan Hankins on November 6, 1954. She was a dedicated Farmer's Insurance Agent and retired after 31 years.
She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church and was devoted to her faith and family.
Loretta is survived by her granddaughter Ga'briel Hankins (Matt) Morris, step-great-granddaughter, Kaylee Morris, and daughter-in-law Gayle Hankins, all of Sedalia; one sister, Elwanda Capps Santiago, Colorado Springs, Colorado, brother Junior Capps, Stover; 13 nephews and nieces: Gail, Lana, Terry, Rhonda, Rita, Brian, Frankie, Maria, Tony, Ben, John, Daniel and Teresa; numerous cousins; long-time friend Melvin Marriott; and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two sons, Monte and Mitch Hankins, and brother, Bud Capps.
Loretta wanted to thank everyone for their many acts of kindness and prayers during her illness.
A celebration of Loretta's life will be held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 6th at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastors Chris Gray & Kevin Howard officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Stover Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Bethel Assembly of God Church in Sedalia or Bothwell Home Health & Hospice of Sedalia.
