Mabel Anna Marie (Brandes) Moellman(1924 - 2013)

Mabel Anna Marie Moellman, 88, of Cole Camp, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Good Samaritan Care Center, Cole Camp. She was born on May 21, 1924, at Cole Camp, Missouri, a daughter of John William and Sena (Schnakenberg) Brandes.

She was baptized on June 8, 1924, and confirmed on July 31, 1938, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cole Camp. In 1942, she graduated from Cole Camp High School.

On February 6, 1955, in Cole Camp, she was united in marriage to Orville Edward Moellman, who preceded her in death on March 27, 1979.

Mabel had lived in both Cole Camp and Lincoln. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, where she sewed with the quilting group. For several years, she worked at Lamy's Manufacturing in Sedalia. She later worked for Town and Country Shoes in Sedalia for 32 years, retiring in 1987 as an inspector in the fitting room. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who was always ready to help others. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and fishing.

She is survived by one son, Rick Moellman and his wife Nancy of Cole Camp; two grandchildren, Jodi Boyd and Alex and Jason Moellman and Danielle Steele; four great-grandchildren, Chase Moellman, Adam Boyd, Madison Boyd, Mackenzie Moellman; four sisters-in-law, Waleta Brandes, Florine Schnirch, Lavona Garber, and Judy Moellman; several nieces and nephews and lots of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Orville Moellman, her dear friend, Bob Salley, three sisters, Myrtle Cordes, Sylvia Hunter, and Ruby Viebrock, two brothers, Edwin Brandes and Herbert Brandes, three brothers-in-law, Elmer Cordes, Reno Viebrock, and Ollie Hunter, and one sister-in-law, Ima Faye Brandes.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, with Pastor Sandy Schlesselman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, rural Cole Camp.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Women's ELCA Quilting Group, Memorial Cemetery, or Cole Camp Senior Center in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.

Pallbearers will be Bill Viebrock, Randy Viebrock, Charlie Cordes, Delbert Brandes, Gary Brandes, and Dennis Brandes.
