Mary Vivian Stahl, 89, former resident of Syracuse, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at her daughter's home in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, where she had been residing for the past 4 ½ years.
She was born May 30, 1923, in Lisle, Missouri, daughter of George and Mary Simmons who preceded her in death. On August 27, 1954, in Harrisonville, Missouri, she married Paul E. Stahl, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Stahl was an Ottawa High School graduate in Ottawa, Kansas. She was a homemaker, and a member of Women's Missionary Union and Syracuse Baptist Church. She resided with her husband in Syracuse for forty-seven years. The last ten years her residence was in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
Surviving are two daughters: Yvieta (James) Ulmer, of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and Marietta Stahl, of Brownsville, Texas; a brother, Wayne Simmons, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and a sister, Christine Norman, of Lenexa, Kansas; a brother-in-law, Allen (Mildred) Stahl, of Syracuse, Missouri; six grandchildren, two great-grand children and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Syracuse Baptist Church, with son-in-law, Rev. James Ulmer, officiating. Burial will be in the Syracuse Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, April 26, 2013, as well as one hour on Saturday, before the funeral, at Syracuse Baptist Church.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Syracuse Baptist Church or the Gideons.
