Mildred M. Fischer, age 91, of Stover, died Monday, January 23, 2012, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
She was born July 5, 1920, in rural Cole Camp, a daughter of Rudolph and Mabel Schnakenberg Holtzen.
On June 29, 1941, Mildred was united in marriage to Marnem Fischer, who preceded her in death March 4, 1983.
She was a homemaker and dairy farmer, busy raising her four children and tending to the family farm.
Mildred was a longtime, faithful member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Stover and was very involved in St. Pauls Lutheran School in Stover.
Survivors include her four children, Dean (Kathy) Fischer, Blue Springs; Kenneth (Roberta) Fischer, Cole Camp; Wayne (Phyllis) Fischer, Stover and Verona (Ed) Goetz, Cole Camp; one brother, Roy L. Holtzen, Cole Camp; a sister-in-law, Lavera Holtzen Sanders, Cole Camp; six grandchildren, four step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Richard Holtzen and a sister, Ethel (Amos) Holsten, a brother-in-law, Melvin (Paula) Fischer and a sister-in-law, Edna (Alfred) Schlomer.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 27, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Stover with Pastor Martin Hoyer officiating. Interment will be in St . Pauls Lutheran Cemetery in Stover.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 26, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M.
