Monte A. Bremer, age 68, a lifelong resident of Florence, died Sunday, August 2, 2009, at his home.
He was born June 6, 1941, in Florence, a son of Edwin and Helen Brauer Bremer, both deceased.
Monte married Leila Dawes on March 9, 1963, in Sedalia. She survives at their home.
He was a 1959 graduate of Stover High School. He worked in various capacities with Clarkson Construction, retiring after 45 years of employment.
Monte was a lifelong member of St. John United Church of Christ in Florence.
He had a knack for electronic equipment, especially radios. His greatest enjoyment came from the time he could spend with his family and friends, especially his grandkids.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Gerald (Paris) Bremer, Otterville; a daughter, Sherain Gray, Stover; and five grandchildren, Sydney, Garrison and Aric Gray and Christian and Megan Bremer.
Monte was also preceded in death byÂ brothers, Jim Bremer and William Elmo "Duck" Bremer,Â sister, Mary Lou Simon and three infant sisters.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wed., Aug. 5, at St. John United Church of Christ, Florence with Rev. Mike Miller officiating.Â Burial will be in the church cemetery with Darrell Bremer, Lloyd Bremer, Bob Bremer, Keith Bremer, Lyonel Bremer and Jr. Hotsenpillar serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Tues., Aug. 4, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.
