Samuel Todd "Sam" Simmons II, of La Monte, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
He was born May 10, 1990, at Hahn Air Force Base in Germany, the son of Samuel "Todd" and Hannah (Brewton) Simmons, Jr.
Sam was a 2008 graduate of Knob Noster High School and later served in the U.S. Marines. He worked as a machine operator at Sierra Bullets. Sam was an amazing artist. He loved music and played in a band. Sam enjoyed his family, friends, being in the marines and shooting.
He is survived by his mother, Hannah Brown and step-father, Dale Brown, both of La Monte, MO; grandmother, Charli Brewton of Alvord, TX; father, Samuel "Todd" Simmons, Jr. and step-mother, Melanie Simmons, both of Polo, MO; grandfather, Sam Simmons, Sr. of Turney, MO; sister, Shelby Mayfield of Ft. Worth, TX; brother, Hayden Simmons of Warrensburg, MO; niece, Harper Gibson of Ft Worth, TX; and step-brother, Tayler Worley of Polo, MO.
Sam was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Sonny Brewton and paternal grandmother Theresa Simmons.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with Pastor Jim Richards officiating.
Interment will follow at Knob Noster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at the funeral home.
