Sandra Dee "Sandi" Bankovich, 53, of Sedalia, died on Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born April 30, 1959, the daughter of Harry G. and Delores (Smith) Shipps. Sandi and Rand Bankovich were united in marriage on June 26, 1993.
In 1977 Sandi graduated from Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia, MO. She attended John Brown University to study nursing and graduated from State Fair Community College's Licensed Practical Nursing program in 1978. She went on for additional training. She worked many years as a surgery nurse for Bothwell Regional Health Center, then for Dr. Douglas Kiburz, Orthopedic Surgeon. She also worked in the Bothwell Pain Clinic for several years. She prided herself on perfection and great service.
Sandi loved life and enjoyed many happy and joyful times with her family and friends. She loved her husband and children dearly, and she was active in their lives, school and activities. Sandi loved spending time at the Lake, cooking and grilling. She was PTA president and she taught Sunday School and VBS at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Sandi never said "No" when it came to her family and friends.
Sandi is survived by her husband, Rand; her son, Rand Alan William Bankovich, II; 3 daughters, Brittani Bankovich, Alexandra Elizabeth Bankovich and Ali Morgan Bankovich; her sister-in-law, Cindy (Shayne) Garretson; her brother-in-law, Rodney (Marjorie) Bankovich; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Sandi was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be at 11:00AM, Friday, June 15, 2012 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, with Rev. Christopher Kellogg officiating.
Pallbearers will be Pauline Gausman, Steve Swafford, Gary Coulter, Fred Branson, Dr. Doug Kiburz, Sam Wollard, Jacob Burkholder, Amanda Coulter and Megan Coulter.
Sandi's family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30PM Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Our Savior Lutheran Church. A prayer service will begin at 8:30PM.
Sandi's family suggestes memorial contributions to Sacred Heart School, Our Savior Lutheran Church or the Pettis County Humane Society, in care of Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home.
