Shirley B. Tomlinson, 77, of Sweet Springs, died Monday, December 31, 2012. She was born August 21, 1935, the daughter of Eugene and Arlie (Hill) Perry.
Shirley graduated from high school and began a life full of fun and adventure. She was a woman on a mission and always in a hurry. She loved her flowers, watching the birds feed, making candy, sewing and cake decorating. Shirley worked for Osco Drug Store in Sedalia for 30 years, before she retired. She was a member of Parkview Christian Church and the Fad of the Month Club.
Shirley is survived by her children, Donald Hardy and his wife, Sally and Sharon Hardy and Richie Hocking; her granddaughter, Amanda Wooldridge and her grandson, Billy Wooldridge; her great grandson, Dartagnan Chitwood; three step-grandchildren, Georgia Ruggles, Rob Scott and Emily Scott; six step-great grandchildren, Hunter, Isabella, Aden, Nolan, Lynden and Maryn; three brothers, James Perry and his wife, Erma, Donald Perry and Joseph Perry; her sister, Jane Barnes and her husband, Dennis and her daughter-in-law, Janet Perry.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jack Perry.
Graveside services will be at 1:00PM, Friday, January 4, 2013 at Andover Cemetery, Andover, Missouri.
Shirley's family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00PM, Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home, Sedalia, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Alzheimer's Research Foundation in care of the funeral home.
