Thomas Raymond Knowles was born in Hustonia, MO Sept. 3, 1937, the son of Raymond C. Knowles and Hazel Bobbitt Knowles. He was married to Darlene Laird Sept. 6, 1958 in Lincoln, MO. He had worked in Sedalia until 1976, when they moved to the Pilot Grove area. He was an independent contractor in the plumbing business for many years. He retired from his business, but idle time was not to his liking, so he had worked for Valley Hope in Boonville and then with Unlimited Opportunities, where he made many
close friends, until his real retirement in 2009. Tommy was a family man who enjoyed camping and traveling with his family and especially time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Knowles was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Nancy Ziegelbein and Shirley Ling, and by a granddaughter, Kelly Brownfield, in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Darlene, of the home, his daughter, Cynthia (Paul) Brownfield, of Columbia, MO: grandchildren: Carrie Miller of Ohio, and Stacy Payne of Georgia. Great-grandchildren: Kaylie Miller, Brandon, Isabella and Payton (P.T.) Payne and one, well on the way, also survive.
Memorials are suggested to that of the familie's choice.
