Walter C. "Grandpa Mac" McBride age 100 passed away on November 5, 2013 at the Fair View Nursing Home in Sedalia, Missouri. He was born on August 18, 1913 in Wauneta, Nebraska son of George and Mahala Trembley McBride. On February 24, 1946 in Shreveport, Louisiana he married Leslie Burkhalter and she preceded him in death on January 28, 1999." Mac" graduated high school in 1931 in Wauneta, Nebraska. He then served in the Army
during W W II. He moved to Humansville, Missouri in 1951 where he still continued to farm. While living in Humansville he was very active in the United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and on many other numerous committees. While living in Humansville he was a leader in the Busy Bee 4-H Club in Hickory County. After retiring "Mac" moved to Sedalia in 1993. He then became a member of First United Methodist Church where he continued to be very active. He was also a member of the 40 & 8 in Sedalia and the American Legion in Humansville, Missouri. He was a member of the first Show Me Honor Flight to Washington D.C. He enjoyed attending church and spending time with his family. "Mac" is survived by two sons; Cliff McBride and his wife Cheryl of Sedalia and Donald McBride and his wife Diana of Kansas City, Missouri. H e is survived by a son-in-law; Jim Shores of Warrenton, Missouri. There are seven grandchildren and five great granddaughters with the sixth due in December. He was preceded by one daughter; Kay Shores, three brothers and three sisters. A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 with Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating at the First United Methodist Church Celebration Center located at 1701 West 32nd Street in Sedalia, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until service time on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Celebration Center.
