Wilson Ewing Tyler(1917 - 2013)

Wilson Ewing Tyler, age 95, of Warrensburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Warrensburg, MO.

He was born April 18, 1917, in Dunksburg, MO, the son of Lloyd and Grace (Robertson) Tyler.

On April 24, 1948, he was united in marriage to Ruth Maxine Finley in Warrensburg. She preceded him in death on July 27, 1996.

Mr. Tyler served in the U.S. Coast Guard and later worked as a farmer and cattleman. He was a devoted husband and father. Mr. Tyler enjoyed building, mechanics and loved inventing new things to improve his daily work. Mr. Tyler loved reading, studying family history, gardening, and enjoyed being with close friends and family. He was a member of the La Monte Christian Church where he taught Sunday school and served as deacon, and was member of the Farm Club and the Christian Builder's Class.

Mr. Tyler is survived by five children: James A. Tyler, and wife, Linda, of Knob Noster; Dean Tyler, and wife, Kathy, of Calhoun; Joyce Schilb, and husband, Bob, of Knob Noster, and Diana Jewett, and husband, Mike, of Windsor; and Ray Tyler, and wife, Kelly, of Knob Noster; 16 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert, John, twin brother Wilford, and sister, Margaret King.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at the La Monte Christian Church with Pastor Alan Morse officiating. Pallbearers will be: Adam Dillon, Jeremy Dillon, Jim R. Tyler, Timothy Tyler, Aaron Hansen, Seth Tyler, Matt Tyler, Michael Tyler, and Steven Tyler.

Interment will follow at La Monte Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the West Central Christian Service Camp and can be left in care of Moore Funeral Home in La Monte, MO.
