Dorothy A. Homan, 76, of Versailles, formerly of Otterville, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at her home.
She was born July 22, 1936, in Jefferson City, MO, to Roy and Gladys Kelbly Jacobs. She was raised by Alvin and Kathleen Phillips in the Florence area. On December 10, 1955, she married Homer Homan, who preceded her in death in October 1991. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1954. She was a homemaker, living in the Otterville community for forty years before moving to Versailles. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Versailles. She loved to play the piano and sew. She loved her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters: Valerie (Rick) Martensen of Versailles; Marsha (Jeff) Johnson of Purvis, MS; five grandchildren: Samantha, Morgan, and Billi Martensen, Juliann and Mason Johnson; two brothers: Edgar Phillips of California and Charles Phillips of Marshall; and one sister, Louise Helden of Houstonia, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Gladys Homan.
Funeral services for Ms. Homan will be Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Otterville. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Otterville.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton.
