Funeral services for Frederick Lee Viebrock, 90, Lawrence, will be 2 pm. Friday, February 8, at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Reverend Matthew Sturtevant will officiate.
Mr. Viebrock died Sat., Feb. 2, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born June 10, 1922 in Sedalia, MO, the son of Louis Frederick and Ella Louise Oelrichs Viebrock.
Mr. Viebrock was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran serving from 1942 to 1946. He attended the University of Missouri for 2 years
He worked for Sunshine Biscuits Inc. for 31 years, living in several cities including Clinton, & Sedalia, MO, Leavenworth, and Lawrence for the past 48 years.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church.
Mr. Viebrock married Shirley A. Parks on Nov. 26, 1950, in Calhoun MO. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a great-grandson, Connor.
Survivors include sons: Mike, and wife, Diane, of Tulsa; David, and wife, Connie, of Overland Park; Paul, and wife, Anna, of Austin; daughter, Julianne, and partner, Kathy, of Lawrence; sister, Kathryn Pahlow, of Sedalia; grandchildren: Lisa, and husband, Justin; Andrew, and wife, Kayla; Matthew, and fiance, Lindsey; Blake, and wife, M.C.; Dustin, and wife, Sarah; and Dima; and great-grandchildren: Jackson and Noah.
Mr. Viebrock will be in state from 9am to 8pm Thursday, where the family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 pm. at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
