Gary R. Kummer, age 74, of Rocky Mount, died suddenly on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at his home. He was born on July 31, 1938, dearest son of the late Henry A. T. and Ida F. (Ritterbusch) Kummer. On June 4, 1984, in Jennings, MO, he married his dearest sweetheart, Karan L. (Ciolek) Kummer, who survives at the home.

Gary was a proud Navy veteran, and retired electrician from McDonnell-Douglas. He was a world traveler, master creative cook and rockhound. He was also a grower of orchids, chickens and cats.
Gary was the strong loving father of Shaun M. (Natalie) Kummer, "Pop" of Paul F. Tessmer, Dad of Tyler R. (Theresa) Canning, brother of Gordon L. (Joyce) Kummer and grandfather of 8. Uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend of many.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1700 Bagnell Dam Blvd., Lake Ozark, MO 65049, with a Celebration of Christian Life service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. and luncheon to follow. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Christ the King Lutheran Church Building Fund.
