Geraldine Joanna "Gerry" Wilson Lively, 92. of Sedalia, passed quietly on November 4, 2013, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, her son, James Andrew "Drew" Lively, her parents Frank Alexander and Ida Louella (Tanner) Wilson, and three sisters, Dorothy Mae Wilson, Peggy Dickmann, and Mary Jane Eisenhart.

Born on November 28, 1920, in Sedalia, Geraldine graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1937. She attended Central Missouri State and received training at the Sedalia Business College. During WWII, she was employed as a stenographer by Amertorp Manufacturing, St. Louis, Missouri.

On September 12, 1942, she married "the love of her life," Floyd Lee Lively in Sedalia. They were married 71 years and had four children: Dennis Floyd Lively (Sharon) of Naples, Florida; Phyllis Lively of St. Louis, MO, and Elizabeth "Libet" Lively Thompson (Rick) of Sedalia, and four grandchildren: G.R. Thompson III (Kadee) of Davis, CA; Adam Joseph Lively (Megan) of Chicago, IL; Elisha Thompson Frieburg (Tanner) of Quincy, IL, and Ryan Matthew Lively (Courtney) of Phoenix, AZ, and seven great- grandchildren: Elise Thompson, Wilson Freiburg, Finley Thompson, Charles Freiburg, Gwen Thompson, Harper Lively and Calvin Lively.

Gerry was a homemaker, excellent seamstress, and innovative cook and baker who loved serving others. She volunteered and served on committees in Sedalia Garden and Study Club, Children's Therapy Center, The Girl and Boy Scouts of America and local PTA organizations. Gerry served as president of Chapter I.P. PEO Sisterhood, and she helped organize her current chapter L.Q. She was a member of First Christian Church where she directed Bible School and served as a Deaconess.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2013, at First Christian Church, in Sedalia, with Reverend Chad McMullin officiating. Pallbearers will be G.R. Thompson III, Adam Lively, Ryan Lively, Tanner Freiburg, Chip Thompson, and Jim Shoemaker. Honorary pallbearers will be Allan Fowler, Lou Tempel, and John Knaus. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until service time.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Christian Church or The Center for Human Services in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
