Harold Wilson Thomas, age 91, of Sedalia, died on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born on April 2, 1921 in Clinton, MO, son of Frank and Lue Alice Wilson Thomas. He was married on December 30, 1951, in Sedalia, to Marjorie Schumaker, who preceded him in death on July 25, 1976.
Harold served during WW ll in the Army Air Corp in the South Pacific from 1942 until 1946. He returned to Sedalia after the service and went into business with his father and traded livestock. He then leased out to M F A and hauled feeder pigs all over the United States. In 1978 he went to work for the Sedalia Park and Recreation Department, retiring in 1986. He then hauled livestock for the next three years.
He was a lifelong St Louis Cardinal fan, listened to the Kansas City Royals, KDRO radio and loved spending time with his family and his companion.
He is survived by a son, Richard D. Thomas, of Sedalia; a daughter, Debra Thomas-Meyer (Dennis) of Sedalia; and his companion, Evelyn Baer of Sedalia. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Wilbur Thomas.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Jared Wheeler officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Hawkins, Terry Cockrell and members of V. F. W. Post 2591. Full Military Honors will be by V. F. W. Post 2591.
