Julia Charlotte Marie Bergmann Schmich passed away July 17, 2013. She was born December 3, 1919 to Clara (nee Brandenburg) and Theodore Bergmann in Concordia, Missouri. She was baptized on December 19, 1919 and confirmed on April 9, 1933, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia. She graduated from Concordia High School in 1937 and from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis in 1941, as a Registered Nurse.
She was married to Harold M. Schmich on May 25, 1946, in Concordia. They were blessed with three daughters: Kathryn (Michael) Gelner, Gettysburg, PA, Stephanie (David) Eshelman, St. Louis, and Susan (William) McClure, Sedalia, MO.
Julia was a stay-at-home mother for many years; then worked part time as an RN. Julia and Harold traveled extensively during their marriage, including an around-the-world trip. Julia has been a member at Peace Lutheran Church for more than 60 years.
Julia is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister, Ruth Heilman, brother Carl and sisters-in-law Ruth Bergmann, Betty Walters, Katie Schmich, and Lorraine Schmich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1995, and her brother, Robert Bergmann.
Interment was Monday, July 22, 2013, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
