Margot Crawford, age 88, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed away Thursday evening, November 8, 2012, at her home in Lincoln. She was born in Schmollen, Germany, the daughter of Emil and Elsa Graupner.
On November 14, 1952, she was united in marriage to Daniel Crawford Jr., in the Lutheran Church in Frankfort, Germany. They repeated those vows on November 15th at the American Air Base in Frankfort. They initially made their home in Germany, but then moved to various locations in the United States and Europe in pursuit of his military duties. They lived in Las Vegas; Fairford, England; Wichita, Kansas; Lakenheath, England; and finally Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, Missouri.
Upon a casual venture through Lincoln, Missouri in 1971 they decided to buy a house, for the first time, to make their home in 1972 for their retirement.
She was an artist, who enjoyed painting, loved cooking, tending to her garden, but most importantly loved taking care of her children and grandchildren.
Along, with her family, she was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Carl Daniel Crawford, her husband Daniel, in 2000, and 4 siblings.
She is survived by one son, David Crawford, and his wife, Cindy, and one daughter, Denise Walters, all of Lincoln, four grandsons, Karl Crawford and his wife Erica, Senior Airman Richard Cristensen and his wife Candice, Eric Cristensen and Daniel Cristensen, 4 great grandchildren, Richard Cristensen Jr., Trinity Cristensen, Perry and Breanna Crawford, three siblings, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Margot Crawford will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 3:00 pm, at the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Leonard Poppe, officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.
