Ruby Fyrn Maltsbarger, 81, of rural Sedalia, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Golden Age Living Center in Stover, MO. She was born May 27, 1932, in Warsaw, Missouri, a daughter of the late Charles Daniel and Etta Anna (Straley) McGrady.

Ruby was raised around the Lincoln and Cole Camp, MO community and went to school at the Cole Camp High School. On December 11, 1948, she was united in marriage to Franklin Delano Maltsbarger by Steve Gardner at Lincoln, MO at his home.
Ruby was a life-time member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church. She had worked at Inter-State Studio for several years. Then she became an optician for Physicians and Surgeons Optical Service for Dr. Joe Bennett, Ophthalmologist in Sedalia, MO. She retired in 1993 from there after working 25 years.
Ruby enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, gardening, quilting and making Sunday dinners with very good fried chicken, homemade pies and rolls.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Frank Maltsbarger of the home; two daughters, Alice Cornine and her husband Gale of Nelson, MO and Jean Reed and her husband Bill of rural Sedalia; eight grandchildren, Etta Koehne, Richard Maltsbarger, Robert Maltsbarger, Ryland Maltsbarger, Dawn Maltsbarger, Kelli Maltsbarger, Tara Wirt and Stetson Reed; two step-grandchildren, Melissa Coleman and Brian Koehne and fifteen great grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Etta McGrady; her younger brother, Charles Marvin McGrady; her older sister, Alta Mae Kullman; her son, Donald Franklin Maltsbarger and her step- granddaughter, Amie Michelle Cornine.
Ruby's family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover, MO.
Funeral service will be at 10:00A.M, Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ruby's grandchildren.
Ruby's family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30P.M. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the funeral home.
