Thelma L. Walker, age 91, of Sweet Springs, MO, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Royal Oaks Residential Care.
She was born January 9, 1922, in Garner, AR, the daughter of Autlie and Flora (Osborne) Scott.
Thelma was a member of the Hughesville Betterment Club and a member of Oats Transportation, which included selling pecans, fundraising, and cookbooks. She enjoyed walking and cooking. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Thelma is survived by her six children: Autlie Walker, and wife, Harriet, of Green Ridge, MO; Doris Mueller, and husband, Larry, and Joe Walker, all of Sedalia, MO; Herbert Walker, and wife, Dianne, of Mercer, MO; Elmer Walker, and Becky Walker, both of Sweet Springs, MO; one sister, Mildred Howard, of Little Rock, AR; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters, and one granddaughter, Tammy Walker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Moore Funeral Home in La Monte, MO, with Reverend Gary Richardson officiating.
Interment will follow at Highpoint Cemetery north of Sedalia, MO.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Thelma Walker Memorial Fund with checks made payable to Autlie Walker and can be left at the funeral home.
