Kenneth Arnold Lenz

BUNCETON - Kenneth Arnold "Kenny" Lenz, 69, of Bunceton, MO entered into eternal glory on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. He died at home surrounded by family.

Visitation for Kenny will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, February, 15 at Davis Funeral Chapel in Boonville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lone Elm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Kenny was born to Arnold and Beata (Dankert) Lenz on October 27, 1944. He was a lifelong resident of Cooper County. He was baptized November 19, 1944 & confirmed on March 23, 1958 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lone Elm. At Zion he served as Elder, President & chairman/member of an assortment of committees.

He graduated from Bunceton High School in 1962 and received a B.S. in Dairy Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1966. At Mizzou he was a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma, Alpha Zeta, Ruf Nex and the Dairy Club & Dairy Judging Team.

He married Marian Ann Foster on November 6, 1965. They have two children, Tina Marie Schnelle and Kevin Jon Lenz.

He loved to attend any event that allowed him to applaud and brag about his children and grandchildren. Early in his life as a grandfather he invented a game he called 'Bear', much loved by his grandchildren: Erica, Ellen, John, & Madison. Kenny loved to sing and could often be heard in the shower, in the barn, across the pasture belting out a hymn or country song.

Kenny worked for Cargill a short time upon graduation, then began farming with his brother, Gale in 1968. Kenny was passionate about his cows & the dairy industry. He took pride in his herd of registered Holsteins. Kenny served for many years on the Mid-Am/DFA coop central council/corporate board, UDIA, Midwest Dairy Association Board, K.C. Dairy Council, MO Dairy Association, Missouri Institute of Coops, & Missouri Industry Growth Council. He also served on Cooper County Extension Council, Youth Fair Advisory Board & numerous other boards & councils.

Kenny had a quick wit and an infectious sense of humor. There are people across the continent who are happy to call him friend. Kenny and Marian Ann were afforded the opportunity to travel the country and world with a number of people they are blessed to call friends.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Marian Ann, of the home, his daughter, Tina and husband, Jerry, Golden City, MO; son, Kevin Lenz and Kim Welch, Bunceton, MO; grandchildren, Erica, Ellen, and John Schnelle, Golden City; Madison Lenz, Boonville, Mo; Gavan and Balea Welch, Boonville, MO. His brother and sister-in-law, Gale and Kathleen Lenz, Bunceton, MO; brother-in-law and wife, Rich and Jean Maloney, Jefferson City, Mo; Sister-in-law, Marla Pfeiffer, Bunceton, Mo.as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, step-father Adolph Rademann, and sister, Karen Maloney.
