1925 - 2008 Obituary Condolences
Charles Floyd Davis, age 83, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed away Wednesday morning, October 29, 2008 at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. He was born on March 25, 1925, in Lincoln, Missouri, the son of Cecil and Francis Pohl Davis.

He grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1944. Later that summer, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Wischmeier on August 12, 1944. He then was shipped overseas to the Pacific to serve in the United States Navy during World War II.

After the war, Charles was owner and operator, along with his father, of the Davis Wholesale Fruit & Vegetable Market in Sedalia until 1951. He later operated the Phillips 66 Service Station and built the MFA Gas & Service Station on US 65 Highway in Lincoln. He retired in 1979.

Following his retirement, they moved to their home at Lakeside Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks, where, along with his wife, enjoyed the time there fishing together. In 1985 they moved to their home in Lincoln.

He was a member of the Lincoln United Methodist Church.

Charles Floyd is preceded in death by his devoted wife of over sixty-five years, Dorothy, on March 11, 2008.

He is survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 1, 2008, at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Rev. Darren Rew, officiating. No visitation.
