1926 - 2009 Obituary Condolences
Robert C. (Bob) Wagner, 83, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Friday, June 5, 2009, after a long illness at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs, with Rev. David Goode officiating. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday. Burial with military rites will be in Houstonia Cemetery in Houstonia, MO. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born May 30, 1926, in Houstonia, he was the son of the late James E. Wagner and Alza Bowmer Wagner. On January 13, 1945, in Sedalia, MO, he married Dorothy B. Burke who survives of the home. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Japan during World War II. After discharge from the service, he worked for Yellow Freight for 39 years, retiring in 1988.

Additional survivors include one son, Jason Burke and wife Becky of Blackburn, MO; two grandsons, Nick Lageman and Kyler Burke; one brother, Curtis Wagner of Independence, MO; one sister, Frances Armstrong of Lee's Summit, MO; one brother-in-law, Louis Burke of Sweet Springs; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Wagner; five brothers, James A. Wagner, Charles E. Wagner, Norvell E. Wagner, William Joseph Wagner and Thomas E. Wagner; and two sisters, Dorothy Jane Wagner and Mary Lou Pitts.
