Emil L. Martin, 86, of rural Boonville, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at his home.
He was born May 19, 1926, in Boonville, MO, to Julius and Mary Anna Lang Martin. On April 13, 1955, he married Elaine Lee Barnes, who preceded him in death on February 28, 2001. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Pilot Grove. He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He lived and farmed most of his life in the Boonslick area.
Survivors include five daughters-Mary Frances (Leonard) Kellogg of Columbia; Carolyn Patricia Martin of Garland, TX; Teresa Barnes Martin of Kansas City, KS; Rebecca Martin of Boonville; and Lori Michelle (Sonny) Broyles of Sedalia; four grandchildren-Doug Martin, Sydney Kellogg, Brandon Kellogg, and Macy Broyles; two sisters-Edna Martin of Honolulu, HI and Isabelle Stoecklein of Boonville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one sister-Clara Horst.
Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, March 1, 2013 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove. Burial will be in the St. Martin's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service, Friday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Martin's Cemetery.
