Robert Henderson Barron (1939 - 2013)

Robert Henderson Barron, 74, of Sedalia, passed away August 21, 2013 at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Robert was born January 13, 1939, in Moberly to Ralph and Mary Helen Cleeton Barron. He attended school in Huntsville and graduated from Huntsville High School in 1957. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he served his country with honor until 1960. He married Carolyn Gipson on October 6, 1961 at the Huntsville Christian Church. After returning from military service, he worked for Temple Stephens Grocery before relocating to the Kansas City area where he worked for Safeway Grocers for twenty years. Later he moved to Cole Camp where he and Carolyn bought a "Dime Store" and converted half of the store to an antique mall, which they eventually sold. While in his late 50's, Robert and his wife acquired another antique store. She worked at the store while he was roofing houses. Once he retired, he continued to sell antiques at booths in various antique malls around the area.

Robert enjoyed going to auctions, fishing, gambling at the casinos and of course, antiques.

Those preceding him in death are his parents, his brother, Donald Barron, and his beloved wife, Carolyn.

He is survived by his children, Terry Barron (Kimberly) and their children Clayton Barron and Emily Barron of Lebanon, Tennessee; Robin Burch (David) and their children David Burch and wife Mesha, and Amanda Haralson and husband Ray, all of Springfield, Missouri; and a great granddaughter Kaylee Burch of Springfield.

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Service will be at 1:00 p.m. with military honors at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, Missouri.
