Patrick Paul Marion Obituary
Patrick Paul Marion, 62, of Ionia passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014, after a courageous battle with a rare neurological disease.

He was born in Ionia, Michigan, on March 5, 1952, to the late Pauline Marion.

Patrick attended SS Peter & Paul Academy and later received a bachelor's degree from Grand Valley State University in Criminal Justice. He married Julie Eddington on Dec. 27, 1986.

Patrick served in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam conflict.

He is survived by his spouse, Julie Eddington-Marion, of Ionia, Michigan; and three children, Mandy Marion of East Lansing, Michigan; Riley Marion of San Francisco, California; Angie Ross (Matt) and daughter Dana, of Levering, Michigan. He is also survived by two siblings, Linda Collins of Atlanta, Georgia, and Michael Marion (Michelle Hunter) of Ionia, Michigan.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly Bellant and Donna Geyer (Allen).

Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia with Father Thomas Boufford celebrant. Visitation will be on Sunday 4-7 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Rosary at 7 p.m.

If you wish to make a donation, the family has designated SS Peter & Paul Academy or the National Ataxia Foundation (NAF) to receive the funds. ??His last official request in life was to have his brain donated to the University of Michigan Brain Bank in the hope that others may one day benefit from their research.
