Mildred is survived by her children, David (Brenda) Johnson of Ionia, Stephen (Dianne) Johnson of Lakeland, Florida, Cathy (Todd) Meyering of Cascade, and Julie (Douglas) Schafer of Hubbardston; siblings, George Campbell of Castlewood, Virginia, Harry Campbell of Clarksville, Helen Burke of Dante, Virginia, and many much-loved grandchildren.

Mildred worked for Chesapeake & Potomic Telephone Co. of Virginia, AT&T in Detroit, and Michigan Bell in Ionia. She was employed a few years at Johnson Shoe Co. in Ionia.

Mildred and her late husband, Donald Gillett spent two years with Wycliffe Bible Translators in the Eastern Jungles of Ecuador. She also worked as visitation supervisor for the Friends of the Court in Ionia County.
