Carrie Lyn Edwards Obituary
Carrie Lyn Edwards, 41, of Kimball Township, died Sunday, July 27, 2014 after a 4½ year battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 9, 1973, in Warren to Christine and the late Theodore Sladewski. She married her high school sweetheart, Lucas Edwards, on Dec. 27, 1997, in St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia.

Carrie graduated from Ionia High School in 1991 and from Central Michigan University in 1997 and was the After School Program Coordinator with the Port Huron Area School District for several years. She was active with St. Christopher Catholic Church and had a heart for the Lord. She belonged to several Bible studies, and was known for her Post-It note ministry: "Look up: Jesus is coming." She was athletic and enjoyed the outdoors, but more than anything, loved being a mom to her two beautiful children.

She is survived by her husband, Lucas; children, Noah Carter and Emily Rose Edwards; her mother, Christine Bewell of Ionia; a sister, Sherry (Billy) Palmer of Lansing; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Karen Edwards of Ionia; grandmother-in-law, Patricia Roundtree of Ionia; sister-in-law, Keri Edwards of Ionia; three brothers-in-law, Patrick Edwards of Kentwood, Conn Edwards of Ionia and Joseph Edwards of Wyoming; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many, many dear friends.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home, 1200 Michigan Ave. in Marysville, with a time of sharing at 8 p.m.

Carrie will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, in St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1000 Michigan Ave. in Marysville. The Reverend Arthur Baranowski will officiate.

The Rite of Committal will follow in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lucas for the children's education. To send condolences, visit marysvillefuneralhome.com.
