Raymond G. Mackey, 70, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Baptist Health of Louisville. He attended Simpsonville Baptist Church. He was a member of Wingate Lodge #161 F & AM, former Boy Scout of America, US Army veteran, and Shelby Co. Car Club member. He was an avid streetrodder and enjoyed his cars. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Marie Mackey; parents, William Raymond and Edith Hill Mackey. He is survived by his sisters, Viola Poe, Beach Park, IL; Dorothy Nuckols, Louisville; Carolyn Eades, Henry County; nieces, Teresa Ann Hulette, Carla Coffey, Charlotte Wolf, all of Shelbyville; nephews, Darrell Eades, Shelbyville; John Nuckols, Springfield, OH and good friend, Jerry Peyton, Waddy. Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Shannon Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Temple, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to American Cancer Society, 701 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd., Louisville, KY 40203.
