Cecil Franklin

Cecil Franklin, 85, of Bagdad, died Thursday, 18 April 2013, at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Ester Clyde and Alice Bernice Cook Franklin, and a member of the Christiansburg Baptist Church. A finish carpenter by profession, he was a former employee of the old Goins Floor Covering Company in Frankfort, a retired employee of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and a former employee of Bagdad Roller Mills. He was the past president and a member for over fifty years of the Cropper Ruritan Club. A great outdoorsman, hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes. Survivors include his daughters, Twila Morris and her husband, Harry Lee, of Shelbyville, and Marisha Franklin of Frankfort; his sister, Evelyn Baxter of East Peoria, Illinois; his grandchildren, Rebecca Dingbaum of Shelbyville, and Jacob Morris of Elsmere; and his great-grandson, Sterling Dingbaum. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Monday, 22 April 2013, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, with Reverend Jesse Baxter officiating. Interment will be in the Bagdad Cemetery at Bagdad, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M., until 6:00 P.M., Sunday, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville.
