Jane Parke LeCompte

Jane Parke LeCompte, 81, of Shelbyville went to be with her heavenly Father on Oct. 18, 2013. She was a longtime member of Cropper Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Hempridge Homemakers and was a member of the Kentucky and National Master Farm Homemakers Organization. She had previously served as state vice president of the Kentucky Master Farm Homemakers Organization and in 1988 she was inducted into the Master Farm Homemakers Guild. ÿShe was a member of Salt River Antique Power Association. She worked at Wakefield Scearce Galleries for 16 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duncan LeCompte; and her parents, Phelps and Margaret Wills Parke. She is survived by her son, Scott LeCompte, Shelbyville; daughter, Lisa LeCompte, Louisville and granddaughter, Natalie Jane LeCompte, Shelbyville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at the Shannon Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert Slaughter and Roger Cox officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
