Robert Lee Tipton

Robert Lee Tipton, 95, of Waddy, formerly of Bagdad, died on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. Born in Shelby County, he was the son of the late Lorenza Dale Tipton Sr. and Mattie Mae Bramblett Tipton. He was a member of the Cropper Christian Church and a farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Nicholas Tipton and Keith Cook; his brothers, John Tipton, Ernest Tipton, Billy Tipton, and Orville Tipton; and his sisters, Mary Roberts and Anna LeCompte. His survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Price Tipton of Waddy; daughters, Doris Cissell and her husband, Robert, of Simpsonville, Judy Tipton of Waddy, Sue Bond and her husband, Owen, of Cropper, Connie Coleman and her husband, Jerry, of Taylorsville, and Peggy Cook and her husband, Bo, of Mount Eden; brother, Renzy Tipton Jr. of Shelbyville; 11 grandchildren, Mark, Julie, Shelby, Suzanne, Chrissy, Ben, Chad, Jill, Jamie, Josh and Nathan; and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, with Rev. Dave Charlton and Rev. Steve Boyd officiating. Interment will be in the Cropper Cemetery, Cropper. Visitation will be from 3 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
