Wister Maple "Dub" Curtis

Wister Maple "Dub" Curtis, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday Nov. 13, 2013 at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Shelbyville and the Young at Heart; retired from the Shelbyville Post Office after 18 years and had previously been manager of Highway 55 Drive-In for 15 years. He was a member of the V.F.W; past board member of the Shelbyville Country Club and member of Clear Creek Golf Club. Preceded in death by: first wife of 59 years, Sylvia Curtis, son, David Curtis and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include: wife, Frances P. Curtis, Shelbyville; daughter Becky Ellis (Steve), Louisville; son, Mike Curtis (Nancy), Shelbyville; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday November 16, 2013 at Shannon Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Friday and 10-1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
