Albert L. Minnis, III, 85, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was a Kentucky Colonel and U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from the Shelbyville Public Works Department as the Director of Public Works, and was a teacher and baseball coach for over 25 years at the Lincoln Institute, Ballard High School and Southern High School in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was a member of the Shelbyville Seventh Day Adventist Church.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Minnis; and son, Mark Minnis.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sarah F. Minnis, Simpsonville; sons, Albert L. "Chip" Minnis and his wife, Vonda C. Minnis, Simpsonville, Christopher "Sean" Minnis, Cincinnati; grandchildren, TeKea Minnis, Cole Minnis, Coty Minnis, Donte Minnis, Alisha Minnis, Kylie Minnis, Luke and Liam Oliver; great grandchildren, TaKayla Minnis, Chad Minnis, Kayleigh Minnis; brother, Bernard Minnis and his wife, "Woody" Minnis, Louisville; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday May 18, 2018 at Clay Street Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Pastor Johnston will be officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
