Edmund Burke Jr., age 80 of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday January 28, 2014 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was a 20-year member of First Presbyterian Church, Shelbyville and served as a Elder there. He also served as a choir member in the church for over 20 years; he had retired as a High School Counselor in Grand Blanc, Michigan; worked with Labors for Christ building the Holy Cross Lutheran Church; volunteered at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville; tutored for Arriba Ninos and is an Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by: parents, Edmund Sr. and Grace Burke; brother, Dr. Winston Burke; sister, Alice Grey Buchanan. Survivors include: wife of 22 years, Joanne Jackson Burke, Shelbyville, KY; son, Aaron Frisbee (Andrea), Louisville, KY; daughter, Terri Donaldson (Ron), Liberty, MO; grandchildren, Ryan, Abigail and Orrin Donaldson, Annie Huelefeld, Cincinnati, OH; brothers, William Burke (Nancy), Paris, KY, Dr. Lucien Burke (Trish), Lake Oswego, OR; many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Pastor Jay Hodge officiating.
