Fannie Alberta Moore Davis, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014 in Shelbyville, Kentucky. She was born Sept. 4, 1940 to Marvin and Bessie Moore in Shelby County. She was united in marriage to Arthur Davis Sr. on Oct. 10, 1959. To this union five children were born. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant View Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Rev. Harry Weaver. She later joined Elk Creek Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Rev. Theodore Todd. She was a retired cook and worked for many years at Claudia Sanders Dinner House and was also a housekeeper for families in the Shelby County area. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur; parents, Marvin and Bessie Moore; sister, Annetta Watson; brother, Thomas Moore; and granddaughter, Brandy Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory five children; Arthur Davis Jr., Sheila Wordlow (Gary), Jacqueline Faye Davis (Thorest Skinner), Karen Miller (Clyde), and Loretta Davis, all of Shelbyville; two sisters, Alice Hamilton of Bardstown and Dorothy Yocum (Benny) of Simpsonville; three brothers, James Clyde Moore (Mary Francis) of Louisville, Roy Moore (Bessie) of Shelbyville, and Marvin Moore, Jr., (Barbara) of Clarksville, TN; eight grandchildren, Cameron Gilbert, Ann Marie Eddington, Tonya Ford, Kimberly Wordlow, Candace Davis, Brittany Davis, Lewis Jones, Jr., and Dominique Jones; five great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margaret Slye; nephew, Tyrone Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at the Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery in Shelbyville.
