James A. Bailey


James A. Bailey, 76, died Feb. 10, 2013, in Lexington. He was a native and resident of Shelby County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the National Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Norma Jean Bailey; and his sisters, Carolyn Douglas and Margaret Osbourne. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Jamison (Bobby) of Shelby County, Kathy Dickerson (Terry) of Mooresville, MS, and Pam Bailey of Versailles; his sons, Kenneth Bailey (Elaine) of Tavares, FL and Gary Bailey of Shelbyville; his brothers, Lewis Bailey (Norma) of Bagdad and William Bailey (Juanita) of Georgetown; his sisters, Betty Newton (Garnett) of Bagdad, Dorothy Lyons (Freeman) of Henry County, and Wilma Waits of Wilder, KY; and 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery in Georgetown.
