James Pryor Collings, age 94, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. He was a member of Dover Baptist Church for 75 years where he was a deacon for many years, a farmer, a former Farm Bureau Director, a former member of the Board of Directors for Southern States Cooperative, a Kentucky Colonel, and served as a T/Sgt. in the Army Air Force in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Johnson Collings and Gertrude Dean Collings, and siblings, William Collings, Lyndon Collings and Mary Evelyn Clements. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Collings of Shelbyville; daughter, Linda C. Mueller (Eddie) of Louisville; brothers, Benjamin Collings (Betty) of Louisville and Roy Collings of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Sandi Weber (Carl) of Anchorage, AK, James Mueller of Louisville, and Jeffrey Mueller (Kerri) of Hamden, CT; and 4 great grandchildren, Nathan Weber, Sam Weber, Leo Mueller and Juniper Mueller. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial is at Grove Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Dover Baptist Church.
