Joseph Winlock 'Joe' Trumbo, 79, of Finchville died Monday, September 4, 2017 at his home.
He was a lifelong member and deacon of Simpsonville Christian Church. Joe was a farmer, member and former board member of Shelby County Farm Bureau, Shelby County Cattleman's Association, past member of Shelby County Young Farmers and 1964 winner of the State Outstanding Young Farmer and member of the former Ky. Pork Producers Association.
Joe served as chair and vice chair and member of the Shelby County Soil Conservation Board and also served on the Ky. State Soil Conservation Board.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Seeders Trumbo; parents, John Maret and Neloise Duvall Trumbo and grandparents, Winlock and Katherine 'Kitty' Duvall.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Trumbo Newton (Andy); Cheri Trumbo; his son, Lane Trumbo (Robin); grandson, Wm. Austin Newton, all of Finchville; brothers, Lucein Trumbo (Jeannie), Hazard; Jack Trumbo (Gwyn), Simpsonville and sister, Patricia Trumbo Prewitt (Chuck), New Orleans, LA.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Shannon Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Sanders officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 P.M. Wednesday, September 6th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
