Kenneth G. Terrell, Jr., 82, of Simpsonville, went to be with his heavenly father on April 3, 2018 with his family by his side. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Todds Point. He was a 30 year employee of Purnell's Sausage Company in Simpsonville. He received his Masonic designations of the following dates, E.A. Mason, May 5, 1975; Fellowcraft Master, June 21, 1975; Master Mason, July 24, 1975. He was a 43 year member of Wingate Lodge #161 F & AM, he served as Master of Wingate Lodge in 1981, 2001 and 2009; served as District Deputy Grand Master during 1988-89. He was also a 43 year member of Shelby Chapter #170 Order of Eastern Star where he served in numerous offices and held the Worthy Patron office 14 times. He was Grand Representative to the State of Utah for 3 years and served as District 16 Deputy Grand Patron. He helped for many years with the Simpsonville Breakfast, he had a love of gardening and growing flowers and vegetable plants in his greenhouses. He was generous with his time and was known for planting flowers at Crestview Nursing Home after his rehabilitation stay for a broken ankle. In May 14, 2014 The Sentinel News wrote an article regarding his woodpile and his love of working in the wood. He was Scout Master for Troop 181 for numerous years while his sons were growing up. He was a very compassionate and caring individual for his family and his community helping any way he could.

He was preceded in death by his wife on March 18th , Ethel Terrell; parents, Edna & Kenneth Terrell, Sr.; brothers, Joe, Charles and Billy Terrell.

He is survived by his sons, Gerald Terrell (Marlene), Shelbyville; Barry Terrell (Lisa), Louisville; daughters, Denise Jesse (Mark), Shelbyville; Teresa Skaggs (Kent), Louisville; grandchildren, Michele Fields, Sarah Terrell, Steven Jesse, Christopher Terrell, Elizabeth Locker, Laura Callis, Andrea Davis; great grandchildren, Dillon Fields, Amelia Fields, Tripp Rutledge, Nolan Terrell, Ellie Kate Davis, Addison Locker; brother, Tommy Terrell and sister, Diane Blair, both of Louisville.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Shannon Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Taylor officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Masonic service will be 6:30 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Simpsonville Cemetery.
